Mentoring offers employers an easy avenue to develop intercultural competencies and the expertise needed when operating in an international environment. The free-of-charge mentoring programme gives employers the opportunity to build contacts and develop mentoring skills through practical experience.
Mentoring is a two-way relationship that benefits employers in a number of ways:
Mentoring is a process whereby experienced professionals impart their knowledge and skills to aspiring young adults at the beginning of their careers. Mentors are under no obligation to hire the mentee. The programme aims to help mentees develop their job hunting skills, acquire further knowledge of Finnish workplace culture and build professional contacts.
We are looking for mentors who are:
The mentees are students in the international degree programmes at the University of Tampere, Tampere University of Applied Sciences and Tampere University of Technology or graduates with an international background. The mentor and mentee meet face-to-face about five times for 1.5-2 hours. Four group sessions are also included in the programme. Becoming a mentor is a voluntary arrangement and mentors receive no financial compensation. The programme will start on September and ends in March 2014. Please note that also mentors are required to attend the group sessions.
There will be running Talent Talent Tampere Mentoring Programme in 2015-2016. The Programme will start in October 2015. Next application period begins in spring 2016 and new Programme begins in fall 2016. New mentors are always welcomed to contact Marjut Schroderus, email@example.com.
