A discussion group for students from Middle East and North Africa
The Settlement Naapuri association was established in 1994. It's part of the worldwide settlement movement started in London in the 1880s. Its work is religiously and politically uncommitted and operates in accordance with the traditions of the movement by avoiding guardian-like and supervising attitudes towards the people it works with. Settlement Naapuri is an independent organisation that follows the principle program of the Finnish Settlement Society (SSL) and is a member of SSL and the International Settlement Society. There are over 30 regular employees, about 50 trainees and over 100 volunteers working in Naapuri. For more information: http://www.naapuri.fi/
Project DIDAR is part of The Settlement Naapuri and it works with questions of cultures meeting each other. DIDAR has several discussion groups based on topics of family matters, working life, getting to know Finnish culture etc. For more information: www.didar-hanke.fi
